This project is designed for two groups of young people from the Czech Republic and Hungary. It focuses on the process of integrating people with disabilities into the society.
13 young people from Hungary and 17 young people from Czech Republic will take part in this Project. Both groups will be integrated, there will be young people with and without handicap.
The topic of the project is based on showing and presenting the history to the young people, next year will be the 700th anniversary of the birth of Emperor Charles IV.
Young people through non-formal education will gain much new history knowledge about the era of Charles IV.
A number of project activities will inform young people with Romanesque and Gothic style, monuments and art. We will use haptic exhibition for the blind, prepared by Prague City Museum and second haptic exhibition at the National Gallery in Convent of St. Agnes. Both exhibitions are focused on the Romanesque and Gothic periods.
We will support the creativity of young people through the use of collective workshop, during which they will produce clay models of architectural elements of Romanesque and Gothic buildings. This workshop will be organized in cooperation with ceramic workshop in free time center Karlínské Spektrum. Creativity will be also supported during other art workshops - young people will create for example a plastic paintings a la Master Theodoric and jewelry from wire and beads.
The entire project is prepared in that way that all young people could participate regardless of their handicaps. The project will support their future friendship and will motivate them to further obtain of information, not only from history.
This project supports the integration of blind and visually disabled young people into the society - within a group of young people without this handicap. This project will support youth organizations in their efforts to involve integration programs and projects into their daily activities.
This project also supports voluntary work. Young people without the handicap will help as guides and help during the program their colleagues with handicap. We will help them in this activity and will motivate them for further volunteering in the future.
This project includes activities based on non-formal education. Young people will get information about the Romanesque and Gothic style using models of buildings on the haptic exhibition, where they can touch the objects. This is especially important for the blind participants who cannot otherwise get a good enough imagination of the shape and proportions of these buildings. This project will help to develop further skills, abilities and key competencies, especially in the area of cooperation, communication, organization, responsibility and empathy.
This project will help to further expand the creativity of young people – on creative workshops the participants will get the opportunity to show and present their artistic talents and aesthetic sense. The topic of the project, Romanesque and Gothic art, we have chosen mainly due to the subsequent celebration of the birth of Charles IV, which will be held next year. During the visit of the haptic exhibition in Prague, participant will learn about the history in a non-formal way. Using special methods and tools the young people will learn many new things and will create nice items during the workshops.
