Trial&Error: cultural work in urban communities is an EVS project, hosted by Kulturlabor Trial&Error e.V. and took place in Berlin, Germany. The project lasted in total 18 months with 4 volunteers from 3 different countries - Hungary, Slovenia and Ukraine - joined the Kulturlabor Trial&Error e.V. team to discover, learn, share, reflect and create. Working with topics of environment, culture and art, according to interests. The volunteers were supporting the trial&error team in the regular activities like d.i.y. craft workshops, creation of online and offline publication, weekly swap shop, baby swap shop, community garden, d.i.y. workshop series Naturlabor, zine-making, art&cultural events, alternative city guide Green Berlin, peoples kitchen and others as well as encourage volunteer to develop and implement his/her individual project.
During the projects each volunteer had an individual working plan and had the opportunity to work with specific learning goals, training such essential skills as voicing their opinion, participating in horizontally organised group processes, acquiring basic media literacy skills, learning to use social media tools and open source online working platforms, promote (PR) and document activities, working in multicultural and multilingual environment, developing the facilitation skills and ability to share their knowledge in format of a creative workshop.
Anna (Hungary) was involved in the organisation of the 6th Recycled Creativity Festival in September, which is an international, ecofriedly, zero-waste music and crafts festival based on gift-economy and volunteer work.
Zita (Hungary) arrived october, shortly after the Recycled Creativity Festival and quickly choose to take care of the PR of Kulturlabor Trial&Error, but also supported the Team in the regular activities especially in diy workshops.
Mariia (Ukraine) also arrived in october and with her rich experience in the NGO field, she had a focus of improvement and structuring Trial&Error workflow.
Tina (Slovenia) came as a replacement for another slovenian person, we have orginally written the project for, because of last-minute cancellation. Her field was dig-workshops, working in the sewing cafe and organizing that project.
