The objective is to retain the services of the Russian transport agent. The Russian highway transport agent serves Finnish drivers and transport entrepreneurs as the joint agent of Suomen Kuorma-autoliitto and Ulkomaanliikenteenharjoittajat ry and the Auto- ja Kuljetusalan työntekijaliitto AKT for resolving problem and special situations in goods transports on the highways in Russia. The financial resources of the organisations that have maintained the support system will not suffice for maintaining the system in 2002 if outside assistance with costs is not obtained. The Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Finnish Embassy in Moscow consider it necessary for the project to be continued.
