Transparent Boundaries ( Lace – Networks – Space – Architecture): Dialogue with the ElderThe project partners met in Brussels to prepare for this project and agreed the following in their Brussels Declaration!Our AimExplore the visibility of the elder in contemporary Europe through creative dialogue informed by the structural and cultural understanding of lace net-works.Our Objectives- Question the materiality and form of boundaries and thresholds in order to challenge their purpose and function.- Develop lace net-works both materially and conceptually as a means of forming series of innovative connections, surrounding but not enclosing space, thus affording access.- Capture the impact of lace net-works structures on community inter-connectedness through trans-generational and cross-cultural creative collaborations.- Disseminate outcomes through a series of exhibitions, performances and workshopsDialogues with the Elder1: If space has boundaries is there another space beyond those boundaries?2: How to forge relationships between walled-off spaces?
