Transfer of VET innovation in the field of gastron..
Transfer of VET innovation in the field of gastronomy and hotel management
The stimulus for the project have been firstly the long term experience with functioning of the VET sector in Slovakia and experience with the quality of services provided in the Slovak gastronomy, hotel and tourism sector. These facts proved that transparency and acceptance of competences and qualifications within and across borders is very important for stakeholders and people working in the gastronomy and tourism industry. Slovakia and the Czech Republic face similar problems in this field such as low mobility of students, insufficient modernisation and incorporation of nonformal and informal ways of learning, lack of flexibility and modularity, insufficient cooperation with the professional sector or low mobility of workforce – especially in implementation of innovative and flexible forms of education and using the potential of cooperation between VET institutions and enterprises for the benefit of all.The main aims of the project ECVET Tour II were: •To introduce the ECVET tools into the secondary vocational education and training (VET), to promote transparency of learning outcomes and to understand qualifications of a cook and a receptionist across the European Union.•To support the modernization and improvement of vocational training in this area.•To develop an environment in which VET institutions will be able to collaborate with other institutions in the EU Member States.•To encourage schools to increase the number of student mobilities and related assurance of a better mobility in the labour market.•To strengthen links between VET institutions and employers and to strengthen schools’ ability to respond to the needs of employers appropriately. The consortium consisted of 4 partners from 3 EU member states. Two partners from Austria (SMC and 3s research laboratory) were donors of innovation (from ECVET Tour and ECVET MOTO projects) and have been partners of a number of successfully implemented ECVET projects. Within the project, their activities mainly focused on methodological preparation of the process of innovation transfer (WP2) and subsequent supervision and evaluation of the actual process of transfer. Partners from Slovakia (APEL) and the Czech republic (EDUcentrum) were recipients of innovation, within the project their activities mainly focused on implementing the existing innovation into new institutional and systemic enviroments in Slovakia and Czech republic, respectively (WP3 a WP4).
