Transcultural Drama: learning, supporting, sharing
Date du début: 1 août 2015, Date de fin: 31 mai 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Jugendkulturarbeit e.V. (Oldenburg) has founded and developed a network of eight children and youth theater groups in districts with a high proportion of migrants. Theater education process through dramatic acting enables children and young people to strengthen emancipation, language development as well as social and artistic skills. The European volunteers will contribute to office work at Jugendkulturarbeit, in the districts Ohmstede, Kreyenbrück, Bloherfelde, Ofenerdiek and to various collaborations with schools (Grundschle Ohmstede and Nadorst, IGS Flötenteich and Special Schools "School at Voßbarg" in Rastede). From the "IJP" (Internationales Jugendprojektehaus) and the volunteer house (where the administration takes place), Jugendkulturarbeit organises its activities in the districts, the football club 1.FC Ohmstede and in schools. Within the scene work, teenagers have the possibility to act as team leader, which gives them the chance to coordinate youth work on their own. This will improve their self-responsibility. The volunteer should first be made familiar with working with children and young people before he/she gets involved in the development of scenes or of their own music. The association sees the group as a reliable social space that can go beyond the mere rehearsals. A sphere of activities is necessary in order to develop this space. There are currently 5 to 6 places available in the volunteer house, but the association thinks that projects in the future could be bigger. The organization has strong partners in Poland, Ukraine, France, Spain, Latvia, England, South Africa, Italy, Lithuania and builds year after year new friendships and collaborations. The goal is to work and cooperate with any organization that is committed towards youth services with a focus on cultural and political education. We want to support international exchanges and cooperation, because that is the only way the IJP (internationales Jugendprojektehaus) may continue to exist.
