Trampoline - how to organize children camps and outdoor-activities?
The project idea was developed during a youth exchange in Hannover in summer 2014 with five of the six partners of this project. The objectives of the project, taking place from the 04. - 13.07.2015 in the Republic of Mari El/Russia, where to share the experience in the field of youth-work, cultural features in environmental education, outdoor-education and particularly the organization of summer camps for children.
The 24 Participants/Group-Leader from Serbia, Czech Republic, Turkey, Germany and Russia are activly involved in organizing camps and outdoor activities for children in their local community or in General are working with children in the area of non-formal education. The Kurdish partner from Turkey would like to develop a similar outdoor-project in their local community.
During the youth-exchange participants presented their own organization and exchanged their experience about the organization of summer tent camp Projects, outdoor-activities, and non-formal-educational Projects. Also each participating organization was responsible for some Input and workshops. The youth-exchange participants where included in setting up the camp for about 80 Russian children (half of them with difficult social background), and observed the last preparations of the organization team of this summer camp, that took place at the same time at the same place. During the children-camp the participants of the youth-exchange offered activities to the children of the camp. That way they where able show to the other youth-exchange-participants how they work with kids/teenager. Also it gave the children-summer-camp an international Dimension.
The intercultural exchange included country-evenings, excursions in Joschkar Ola, discussions, a visit in a historical Mari-Outdoor-Museum and a village of the Mari-people to get to know their culture, daily life and religion.
As a result of this activity the participating organizations got to know each other better, got more experienced in the management and running of summer tent camps for children and teenagers and outdoor-activities in general. In a long term it is going to higher the quality of the work with kids, teenager and young people, even including children with a difficult social background.
The project included also the publication of a small brochure with best practice-ideas about different aspects of the work with children and youth, especially outdoor and in camps. Unfortunately the ukranian Group did not participate in the camp.
