Polish Esperanto Association is a national organisation, active in organising and holding intercultural events and interested in international cooperation in the field of adult non-formal education and training, whose work is based on volunteers' efforts.
Due to the typology and nature of their work, sometimes the volunteers engaged in the organisation can identify in their action a ""skill mismatch"" between their owned skills and abilities and those required and needed to effectively carry out the associative life.
This project, which will last two years, therefore aims to address ways to improve the associative life of the involved activists and to contribute to their personal development and growth; through sharing and professionalization, the involved organisations will share best practices and get themselves trained in a positive, constructive and European dimension.
The organisation planned to send 16 of its members to 8 different training seminars, in order to improve their skills in many different areas, basically related to management and organisation and to staff competences: the seminars will be held in Scotland, Italy, Portugal and Germany, and hosted and coordinated by different organisations.
During each seminar, all the participants will share their experience and key experts will be invited for specific seminars, which will provide a common set of skills for language teachers. Innovative practices will be developed during the whole staff training activities carried out abroad, with a particular focus on the following areas: organisation of activities and events; team working in intercultural teams; management of volunteers; self management (time and stress management, motivation, decision making, problem solving); marketing and communication strategies; finance management and fundraising; negotiation skills; organisation and management of training courses and activities. In general, all the staff training activity will contain an element of skill empowering in the field of application and use of ICT, while a specific seminar on the topic of the concrete application of ICT to the management of associations will be held, characterised by practical exercises and specific presentations on specific programmes.
The participants involved in the project activities will benefit of the gained experience according to a different levels and dimensions. Here below are indicated the main areas of skill improvement: identification of the strong and of the weak skill areas; strengthening of the weak skills areas; acquisition of new skills and abilities in the mentioned fields; general skill improvement, in a perspective of the most effective and adaptive application of the acquired and strengthened knowledge; networking with representatives of other organisations, in order to build and consolidate an international and sustainable cooperation in an European dimension.
The project will be carried out with an effective and strong management, and applying a constant monitoring and evaluation of the project progress, and with a constant attention for for the personal development of the activists involved.
Effective strategies of dissemination at national and international level and valorisation of results will maximise the impact of the project on the participant, both on the sending organisation and on the receiving organisations; furthermore, the project results will have a strong impact also at international level, as the participant will come in contact with other similar organisations sharing their same needs in terms of training and exchange of good practices. This will guarantee a sustainability of the project in the future, beyond the project lifespan.
