The training course "Be brave: empower yourself", to be celebated in Sevilla (Spain), aims to bring 30 volunteers, youth workers and trainers and young women leaders from NGO's from both sides of the Mediterranean together (Lebanon, Egypt, Morocco, Hungary, Italy & Spain) to discuss the topic of Gender equality under the umbrella of Human Rights and to support and strengthen their civic participation and contribution by: identifying and discussing challenges faced by youth and young women in the Euro-Med region through intercultural dialogue, focused on the freedom of expression in several spheres of life, providing participants the opportunity to learn new skills needed to freely express their opinion and participation in public life and to improve the use of non-formal education methods and how to create tools to empower young women by increasing their capacity for freedom of expression & fight against exclusion, and enhancing the knowledge of participants on the Erasmus + Programme and encourage networking to develop future projects related to the topics of Gender Equality, Democracy, Intercultural dialogue and Human Rights and to study the possibilty to create a new Strategic Partnership on the topic & the Non formal methods for youth work on Gender Equality. It is a second edition of the training course succesfully developed in Beirut in 2013 (November) "Be brave: express yourself".Participants will share their different countries realities as to Gender Equality/Inequality, and the challenges faced by women in their different spheres of life (private, professional and public). It will also develop their skills needed to freely express their opinion and practice democracy, using tools and methods learned as well as developed during the training course based on Biographic Method & Digital Story Telling as an educative resource for Empowering Women. It will be delivered through workshops, info-sessions, learning by doing, meetings with women and youth associations and cultural visits. All methods and tools will be based on non formal and informal education, in which the participants will take an active part (before, during and after the training), allowing time for personal participation, group research and work, group discussions, presentations, personal and group reflection time and evaluation (daily and at the end) giving them the opportunity to create, share and implement their own ideas on Gender issues through the exchange of knowledges. They will also learn, in intercultural teams, how to create and use those methods, and will design their own tools and productions to be used in projects through their organizations to raise awareness as to Gender Inequalities and Freedom of Expression for young people in other cultural contexts and in youth exchanges or training projects and through the Social Networks for young people ensuring the transfer of knowledges supported by the Handbook "Be brave: empower yourself", a collective/participative didactic material & through their own productions (video, papers, presentations...) in Internet.The competences to be adquired or develop with this the training course will be: - Awareness of one's own identity, developing of self-reflection and making use of diverse ways and methods to increase self-awareness, willingness and ability to take on new roles with confidence & autonomy. - Learning with and from others, contribuiting actively and with responsability, cooperate successfully in teams-work, encouraging and involving other participants, dealing constructively with disagreements, developing new ideas and entrepreneurship.- Ability to communicate meaningfully with the others: to listen actively, to express and present clearly thoughts, feelings & emotions, to be empathetic, understand situations, to use and understand non-verbal communication and to overcome language barriers.- Planning and Organization of roles, tasks and division of labour, identifing appropiate methods and designing tools for youth work based on key-concepts, values and practices of non-formal education, designing clear objectives, ways of doing and evaluate.- Cultural awareness, critically reflecting about and take distance from on's own perceptions and stereotypical constructons of reality, fostering participants' awareness and importance for integrating an intercultural approach in their youth work.- Developing and applying a common concept for Gender Equality, integrating knowledeges of gender issues across different Euromed realities, considering gender issues in regards to culture and religious beliefs and at the same time emphasising Human Rights and possibilities in Erasmus + Programme.- Ability to apply the Biographic Method for youth work and Digital Story Telling for Gender issues.- Incorporating ICT and new media for collaboration: digital competences for Digital Story Telling, SALTO Youth Toolbox, Facebook, YouTube and others.
