Training course "Acting through Games"
Date du début: 1 janv. 2013,

As youth leaders we often use games and activities as informal teaching methods. The activities give the youth a chance to have fun, work together, learn about themselves and improve a variety of skills. But are our activities having the desired affects? Debriefing is a method of questioning participants after an activity in order to facilitate the ‘experience’ becoming ‘learning’. Without debriefing an activity we can lose these potential learning moments. As stated in the objectives of the Youth in Action program, it is important to “help young people acquire knowledge, skills and competencies, and to help them recognize the value of such experience”.But what is debriefing? How do we do it? When/where/with whom can we use it? These are the questions we will investigate during 7 days International Training Course for Youth Workers from the EU and EECA countries "Acting through Games" that will gather 29 youth workers/leaders from the EU and EECA countries in Lalovo, Moldova. ADVIT Moldova will act as host organization. We will also work on the debriefing methods for young people with fewer opportunities. By creating methods that work in these situations, our youth workers will be able to strategically work with their youth, and create learning situations for them. One of the goals of the training are to increase the skill level and the confidence of the participants with regards to debriefing. Another benefit is that they will have the opportunity to work in a true team environment with their peers and learn from each other’s experiences. This training is for us to work together to find solutions, and to share these solutions with the larger community of youth workers and youth. The training is ‘hands on learning’. Participants will play the games, be debriefed, lead games and debriefing themselves, and develop new methods
