Train your senses - DYS 2.0

DYS 2.0 is intended for transfer and improvement of the successfully completed GRUNDTVIG project EDysGate 2006-2008. EDysGate provides a highly motivating and stimulating learning environment for a carefully selected range of skills known to be important for young dyslexic adults. The 175 learning games free of charge available developed for training of the sensory perception of young dyslexic adults. It addresses seven areas of particular importance for vocational skills development: Auditory Discrimination, Auditory Memory, Auditory Sequence, Visual Discrimination, Visual Memory, Visual Sequence, and Spatial Position. The areas are targeted through direct and indirect stimulation. The principles behind the exercises are not specific to any given language - they will work for all individuals across Europe. The exercises have been developed in collaboration with young dyslexic adults as well as those who train them. The project results are widely well evaluated, more than 700 permanent registered persons use monthly the learning games. The EDysGate learning games won the Austrian State Award for Multimedia & E-Business 2008 and are nominated to the World Summit Award 2009 in the category of E-Content and E-Learning. The main aim of the project DYS 2.0 is to transfer the learning games into 3 new languages and new socio-culteral environments, to increase the number of games by adding 100 new ones and improving the interactive learning environment. At project`s end there will be available: 275 learning games for young dyslexic adults in 6 languages (English, German, Bulgarian, Greek, Czech, Lithuanian) and an online game configurator. The target groups are: young dyslexic adults at age of app 16-26 and trainers specialised on dyslexia. The main purpose of using the learning games is to support the development of vocational skills and life chances of young dyslexic adults and to provide a new kind of training ressources to trainers.
