As an Umbrella Organisation for Landscaping and Horticulture in Bavaria we wish to offer Study trips and Work placements in NI and Cornwall for trainers and trainees associated with our organisation. A similar (pilot) project is currently being conducted by our sister organisation in North-Rhein Westphalia. We were able to secure a contract with the same partner in Great Britain in order to built on past experience and good practise. Our co-ordinator in UK Miss Koschemann has had experience since 2010 in organising LLP and ERASMUS+ projects and has made the decision to conduct a shared project with our sister organisation in Baden-Württemberg and ourselves in Bavaria. The VGL in Baden-Württemberg is applying separately, we have laid down our reasoning for this procedure in full. Our organisation is hosting 50% of the participants that are to be sent in this joint project. Each flow will contain an equal number of participants from each Federal State. We are sure this will have a multiplying effect on the exchange experience and we thoroughly support this idea of an inter-regional co-operation in addition to the European exchange aspect.
The participants are trainees and trainers in Landscaping and Horticulture. Both groups will not only profit on a personal level and from personal growth but also from an expanse of their professional skills and knowledge.
Our trainees will largely profit from practical experience in typical English Gardens supplemented with excursion to other gardens in the area. The trainers are sent on an intensive 8 day courses of historically relevant knowledge paired with new trends and designs originating in Great Britain.
England (especially Cornwall) is the mother of modern Landscape Gardening. As a provider for vocational training and market leading services it is our duty to look to the classical as well as the new. Both being represented by gardens of the National Trust or RHS Chelasea and Kew Gardens. The acquired knowledge will be infused into our companies and training institutes and thus we will be able keep ahead of our competition.
Our trainers will be travelling in 6 flows consisting of 8 participants each towards the South West of the UK, the trainees will be welcomed by Miss Koschemann in Belfast NI where they are being placed in individual companies. Miss Koschemann is looking after our trainees from September to May and guiding the study trips in summer. In Northern Ireland she will also serve as a host mother in a house especially rented and accredited for the purpose of hosting our trainees She will also help with the practical aspects of organising the flows including flight, insurance and so forth.
To ensure good quality we will develop and implement first steps towards well described learning outcomes in ECVET. Because Landscaping and Horticulture is such a versatile profession we are aware that some time and trials are needed to achieve this goal. We regards this projects as our first steps towards achieving this.
