"Towards Plurilingualism"
Date du début: 1 juil. 2016, Date de fin: 30 juin 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The context of the project we are applying for, "Towards Plurilingualism", is that of a school which has had an international aim and dimension for years. We have been participating in international projects and exchanges and we have just started a bilingual stream in English. We already have a German stream and want to offer our students a new opportunity to develop better their communication skills in English because we want to upgrade them and give them the chance to achieve their full potencial, both academically and socially.Enterpreneurship, personal initiative, ambition and access to employability cannot be guaranteed if a language competence is not real. We perceive languages as a tool to unite citiziens, a tool that enables communication and, hence, team work and cooperation. But nothing can be done if communication is not provided. Languages, which are part of an undeniable human and cultural heritage, are to unite people, to bring people near other people and cultures.Good language skill and competences are essential to get another important goal: our students´ feeling that they are part of Europe. To get this, our teachers also need to be updated, qualified and well-trained. Our EDP wants to help teachers who already teach in our German stream improve their job by doing a jobshadowing with the BRG19 in Vienna, a school with which we have been collaborating in international projects for years. They have a very good bilingual stream and are specialist in sport lessons, open learning and science. For the teachers who are commited to teach their subjects in English we planned a course and the job-shadowing. We think that for our teachers, a good training is to see and observe good practice form peers. Our teachers will learn from them and will be introduced in the CLIL practice. The benefits and impact we expect to get is the teachers´good training in the sort term and a better school, an, in the long term, a more European school where foreign languages are the passport.
