Tous prêts pour l'Euro
Date du début: 2 mai 2016, Date de fin: 1 sept. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

This project is included in the frame of the European football cup 2016. The departmental council of the Gard solicited i-PEICC in order to locally impulse a European dynamic by bringing to work together several local organizations working in the fields of youth and sport. The FFF (French Football Federation), the National Education, the USEP (Sportive Union of First Degree Education), the Departmental Council of the Gard and i-PEICC want to create a sportive event in the frame of the action “Tous Prêts pour l’Euro”, initiated by the ministry of Youth Affairs and Sport. This event, which will take place in June 2016, will be the end of a long term work, started on September 2015, with children of public primary schools, aged from 9 years old to 11 years old, incorporated in the frame of “Mon Euro 2016” operation. This event will have two sides: the first one will consist on the transmission through football of social values and game rules, in order to raise awareness among children of citizenship and Europe. The second one will consist of the development of creativity and artistic sensibility of these same children through an artistic contest on the theme “when Europe and football are meeting”. We are planning to host two Short Term EVS during one month to prepare this event with all the organizations taking part in the local action. Each volunteer will work with a French volunteer, in order to ease their integration in the local community. On site, several partners will be involved: football clubs, cultural associations and sports clubs working with specific publics or disabled people. All this partners will implement workshops about Europe. Around 400 children will participate in these workshops.Working methodology: The European Volunteers will directly work with the professional and volunteer team, so they will be fully implicated in all the activities. The volunteers will learn by doing. Our methodology is based on taking initiatives, responsibilities and autonomy, so the volunteers can gain during their EVS self-confidence, experience and competences. During the project, the volunteers will have several weekly meetings with their tutor in order to reflect on their missions and their personal integration together. Fighting against prejudices and discriminations will be the main goals of the project. The point is to make the public more aware of the positive aspects of being part of the European Union. We want to create a real collaboration between primary school’s teachers, associations and the departmental council’s workers to be able to keep promoting European citizenship throughout concrete actions built on both formal and non-formal education.
