Tools for Reflective Practice
Date du début: 1 mai 2015, Date de fin: 30 avr. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Tools for Reflective Practice was a training course that looked at both the practical and theoretical aspects of implementing reflective practice into non-formal education and youth work, the course was also suitable for those working in a teaching setting. During the training, we explored reflective based practice in order to better understand how it could be used effectively in participant’s own work setting. We used reflection throughout the week in order to assess our progress and see it in practice. Participants engaged in various activities that explore the topic and look at reflective practice while discussing models for its growth and development in Europe. The course also fostered new collaborations between the partner countries and explained how to gain funding for future cooperation for international youth activities. The aim of this course was to analyze reflective practice from different cultural perspectives from across Europe, but using the UK as a showcase of how as a country it has developed working practices through its practical application. We also took into account how this is being delivered across the continent with each country presenting this in the programme. During the course, participants engaged in various activities that explore the topic and looked at reflective practice while discussing models for its growth and development in Europe. This project was the result of a desire to share reflective practice between European Countries, by taking a process-based approach that does not assume a level on understanding. Instead it builds on introducing the subject, exploring its relevance and applying it in the context of each country so the each participant will return home with something of real value. Through the teaching of theory and practice via the use of interactive training we shared this knowledge and skills base with a range of professionals from other countries. This training was facilitated by experienced and qualified professional Youth Workers, trained in reflective practice and was from the UK. The trainers delivered a curriculum on range of subjects centred on the course objectives. These were focused on the learners participating and we achieved the following: - Learners will were able to identify and explain what reflective practice is. - Learners were able to explain the use of reflective practice. - Learners were able to locate reflective practice in the context of their work. - Learners were able to identify the benefits of reflective practice and share them with others. - Learners were able to identify the challenges of implementing reflective practice in their work.
