Date du début: 1 mai 2016, Date de fin: 31 oct. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

'Toestand Mâche Pristina' is a combination of a planning visit and a group exchange in Prishtina, Kosovo. Together, they aim at sharing and spreading knowledge and skills needed for the reactivation of vacant spaces and their transformation into cultural and creative spaces for the youngsters. While having the youngest population in Europe, Kosovo is considered one of the poorest on the continent and faces one of the highest unemployment rates in the regions (especially among youngsters).'Toestand Mâche Prishtina' aims at showing the huge potential of the revitalization of empty and abandoned buildings and wants to empower youngsters in Prishtina to re-think their own and the potential of their city.Kosovo Architecture Foundation (KAF), Toestand vzw from Belgium and InfoQuartier Mâche from Switzerland will combine their expertise and knowledge in the field of urban development, youth participation and creative and alternative solutions. The three organisations will form three groups; one from Kosovo, one from Belgium and one from Switzerland. During a week, 45 participants get to know each other and each others culture. Through co-creation, they will rebuild an abandoned building into a space for cultural activities, where youngsters of Prishtina get the opportunity to express their creativity and set up activities for the benefits of the city and the community. The space will be opened for public and used as a "cultural scene" during the Prishtina Architecture Week, the annual project of the Kosovo Architecture Foundation. The local urban, socio-cultural and political context and project outcomes will also be shared in a lecture during the Prishtina Architecture Week. The participation of the Belgian partner organisation is in the interest of further developing expertise on redeveloping / opening upabandoned spaces for young people and their (creative) needs. For Toestand, the objectives are to widen its scope on the possible premises of the use of abandoned space in Kosovo, the newest country in Europe with the youngest population on the continent.
