The past two decades are marked by an increased access to ever larger amount of information available through Internet and other media. Yet, this also led to a decreased amount of time we spend on processing it. Scientists believe that the attention span of humans is decreasing as modern technology increases. Internet browsing is believed to have a similar effect because it enables users to easily move from one page to another. Most Internet users spend less than one minute on the average website.
We felt the need to improve how we communicate relevant, educational and even scientific information about health, environment, social sustainability, education to the community and especially to the young in an understandable way for all. Other partner organizations who share with us this concern and issue joined in. All our organizations need to have people who are good at communicating the essence of the message in an attractive way. We need our youth workers to develop their pitching skills, focusing on and enhancing the personal/interpersonal communication dimension, at a "human level", outreaching to the minds and hearts of each person individually: not leaving the message "somewhere in the air", but rather engaging the receiver. In our communication with the wider public, we need not to forget that behind communication tools, strategies, there are always human beings.
Hence, our aim in this project is to provide youth workers working on sustainability and education with that they can use to communicate important information in less than 3 minutes, and with the understanding on how to do that.
The objectives of the project focused on our participants are:
1. They become more familiar with various existing tools that can be used in communication
2. Create understanding of different types of communication and their impact on society
3. Improving their communication skills using the newly acquired tools both during and after the training course itself
4. Develop their pro-active and participative learning based on a needs-based approach
5. Develop their awareness and understanding of mechanisms and concepts related to the personal, interpersonal and external communication in the youth workers' work related to sustainability, education and cultural issues.
6. Enhance their empathy in relation to the people they are trying to outreach to.
We put the core aims, objectives, expected outcomes in a Call for partners and shared it with these organizations. Some of them responded positively, and this is how our partners from Albania, Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine, Romania, Lithuania, Poland and Spain have eventually partnered for this project. Even though they were not the ones to put together the aim and main objectives of the project, the partners that joined in at a later stage have still contributed with ideas for activities, some particular aspects that have eventually improved the quality of the project design thanks to their experience.
Partners in this project are experienced in:
- youth empowerment on issues related to sustainability (Youth Center Borderless from Albania),

All partners have some experience in youth work and in communication, but while some partners more of one and less of other, what unites us are the common need reflected in the aim of this project, and we are confident that by coming together in this project we will create the appropriate conditions and premises to have a sharing and learning environment from which we all have important things to gain.
