The Croatian Youth Network implemented a one-yer nation-wide project entitled „Who's afraid of the big naugty crisis? Structured dialogue on the topic of youth (un)employment in the Republic of Croatia . The overall goal of the project was to contribute to the reduction of the youth unemployment rate in Croatia and to the increase of the number of quality work places for young people. This was to be achieved by opening a wide-reaching consultation process between young people and other relevant stakeholders. Our consultative and promotional activities reached more then 1000 young people who had a chance to voice their opinions, problems and recommendations on the topic of youth (un)employment and enter into direct dialogue with local and national decision-makers. We brought together experts and representatives of all relevant institutions and, in partnership with seven local youth organizations, organized online constultations with young people, as well as 16 focus groups in 8 Croatian towns. Results of the consultation process were published, presented at a national high-visibility conference and disseminated to relevant stakeholders. The project not only contributed to the development of active measure in employment policies on local and national level, but it also built capacities of the youth sector and institutions for the process of structured dialogue on the European level and strenghtened their mutual partnership.
