The project TIMER+, for a period of 24 months, had been supported by Le LP Germaine Tillion that offers training in the tertiary and industrial sectors (professional VAT Management Administration, electrical engineering, plastics and Composites, CAP polyvalent staff catering, carpentry and metalwork) and a European professional class. It is located in Auvergne, Thiers, city of 12,500 inhabitants. The school has 350 students and 43 teachers and a boarding school. The students originated from very disadvantaged families (65%). They are girls and boys from diverse cultural backgrounds. Opening up of Europe and fight against dropping out of school are an integral part of the school project. At a contact seminar organised by the Auvergne region, teachers had met with the representative of a Finnish partner. A bilateral exchange had been then considered with the vocational centre SEDU located in Seinäjoki, a town of 37,000 inhabitants in the southwest of the Finland. This partnership had been formalized by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding. Partners had been in turn host partner and sending partner. Mobilities for staff and for students had been achieved in 2015. The project had been supported by a leading team consisting in the principal, two teachers (Maths and English) referring mobility region Auvergne, the director of vocational and technical education and a financial manager. The team members had wished to strengthen their professional profile, ensure the sustainability of the European class and deepen their knowledge the Finnish system of learning validation and ECVET tool in order to transfer it to their French school. The team had planned to develop professional skills on innovative practices and methods of transferable certifications through staff mobility to Finland vocational school SEDU in Seinäjoki. A week observation was made by the three teachers in May 2015. the organization partner had implemented a program of activity that matched their expectations: practical exchanges, knowledge of education and certification, observation of vocational practices through national best workers competitions and companies visits. Staff mobility was an opportunity to finalize the mobility of the students.7 students in BTEC Management Administration and Sales performed a 3 week internship in companies in October 2015. The Finnish students had been hosted in France in November 2015 for 5 weeks. The TIMER + team planned a risk management protocol and worked on the basis of a logical framework and a retro planning. A Finnish teacher conducted a week training period of in November 2015. This project has led to greater compatibility between the different vocational education systems and readability of certification across Europe to enable young people to access a the broader labour market, reinforcing their sense of belonging to the European Community. Teachers are now more experienced and more competent in mobility in European professional certification through ECVET. Achieved positive results encouraged the school, via a new ERASMUS + project (MOTIV +) over 2 years, to fall within a strategy internationalization, improve visibility and recognition of learning outcomes and reducing school dropout. The project met national, regional and local priorities that encourage vocational schools to set up exchanges and partnerships with French and foreign companies and accompany them in this process.
