Date du début: 1 oct. 2014, Date de fin: 30 sept. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The project "This Is Tomorrow. Back to Basics: Forms and Actions in the Future" is long-term collaborative platform of What, How & for Whom/WHW from Croatia, Tensta Konsthall from Sweden and Latvian Center for Contemporary Art from Latvia. The primary aim of the project is to examine and develop the models for sustaining small and middle-size art institutions in the future, through strengthening their involvement with diverse local organizations and stakeholders, fostering growth of new audiences, capacity building of cultural workers and institutions involved, and focusing on transnational circulation of artistic ideas and projects. It does so through employing know-how and working models developed by project partners from various parts of Europe in producing, and presenting and circulating art works that examine the role and reach of contemporary visual arts production. The project is focused on activating and connecting the artists and cultural organizations with local communities by developing and improving the exchange of creative strategies among professionals and organizations from various social fields. Through three thematic threads - Art as Life as Work as Art, This is Tomorrow/Enlightenment, and Non-visible Everyday Solution Trajectories, project will encompass: - a series of exhibitions taking place in art spaces such as galleries, as well as in public spaces, public and civil society institutions; - cluster of hybrid cultural events in collaboration with local institutions such as educational center for youth, environmental association or libraries; - international symposium- series of public lectures- interdisciplinary seminar- series of publications. Artists and cultural workers from various European countries and beyond will take part in the project, while diverse experience of partners from a different historical and cultural background will provide effectual support to transnational circulation of cultural products in multiple directions.
