Think Green, Act Green: Environmental Protection in a United Europe
Date du début: 1 sept. 2015, Date de fin: 31 août 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

EU environmental policy is moving towards increasingly ambitious targets, while the EU consumer markets are becoming more green-oriented. These trends are expected to generate a demand for staff specialized in environmental policy and management on the job market (EU or Partner Countries). TAG-EU seeks to provide tailor-made courses on European Integration (EI) and Environmental Policy (EP) for 90 students with diverse academic backgrounds, who do not have access to EU studies in their standard curriculum. There are currently no educational programs at the host institution that provide specific courses addressing these topics and a set of tailor-made courses on EI and EP would represent a first step in filling this academic and professional gap at a regional level.TAG-EU will take place over the course of three academic years (30 participating students yearly). It will generate the following outputs: 2 courses on EI and EP, 1 book, 90 sets of student toolkits, 1 database, 1 website, 3 booklets, 3 sets of promotional materials, 3 promotional campaigns, 3 launch events, 3 workshops, 3 open-door conferences, 3 conference papers and 2 peer-reviewed articles.Main outcomes and impact:- 90 academically diverse students well equipped with knowledge and skills on EI and EP, with improved career prospects on the job market;- a basis to design and implement a multidisciplinary graduate level study program on Environmental Economics and Management, providing career development opportunities for the young academic staff involved;- a snowball effect in which students well trained on EI and EP will become active citizens, who will promote and enforce EU values in their professions either within or outside the EU;- the young researchers in the TAG-EU team will have gained more experience in designing and teaching courses on EU issues;- more access to information on EU issues for third parties (civil society, general public, regional businesses, policy makers and others).
