The Verses of Europe

"The Verses of Europe" is a youth exchange, which was organized on the initiative of young people from Zasavje in cooperation with young participants from Romania, Italy, Lithuania and Estonia. The exchange hosted young literates and their literary works, which they created alone or in a group, later on read to each other and at the end of the project published in the form of international literary collection which was introduced to local and international public. At the forefront of the exchange was therefore to train young people how to create literature, strengthen written communication and dramaturgy in one's native as well as foreign language, improving skills of public speaking and the art of performing. In the exchange participated xclusively young people with fewer opportunities. Through the method of experimental learning, they gained knowledge and skills which will ensure them better entrepreneurial and employment opportunities, especially in the field of creative industries and culture. Through such training, the youth exchange pursued the objectives of the Erasmus + programme and through the promotion of European linguistic diversity followed the European Agenda for culture and the Work Plan for Culture in Europe (2015-2018). The effects of the exchange are: the creation of a new international project, at least two youth employment, reintegration of at least 2 drop outs in school and increase of the interest of young people in international activities. All effects of the project were measured by the method of SROI (social return on investment) and through the use of the method, this exchange was the first exchange in Slovenia that evaluated the financial effects of the social value of the exchange. Besides competences written in form of Youthpass, all participants entered the Cobiss system which will serve as a reference for their work in literature.
