The Rocky Road To Peace

Regional Studies Center is organizing an exchange entitled “The Rocky Road to Peace”, which is scheduled to take place on 21-29 October 2013 in Tsakhkadzor Armenia. The exchange will bring together 40 young people from Armenia, Georgia, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Moldova, Belarus and Romania . The exchange is aimed at sharing different views and opinions regarding the ways of achieving peace, also understanding the role of conflicts and the role of peace in everyday life you young people. It concerns not only national or interstate conflicts but also interpersonal and intercommunity conflicts. The objectives of the exchange are:• To promote the culture of peace among the participants,• To give a comprehensive knowledge on conflict management and non-violent actions, especially discussing the best practices in the world and motivating the participants to act as civic activists, • To prepare and publish an online publication on the best practices and success stories which will later on serve as a guide for the civic activists who want to act as peacebuilders in their local and national levels,• To have free space for participants to share their experience and have social contact and intercultural dialogue with each other,• To support the participants to write follow-up projects during the exchange itself and later on implement them acting as multipliers as for the outcomes of the event,• To encourage the participants to create an informal network and set ground for future cooperation and partnership.• To give participants knowledge about different opportunities that Youth in Action provides. The exchange will be based on non-formal learning principles and will employ methods such as small group work, multimedia presentations, theatre workshops, outdoor activities, participant-led workshops and daily evaluation and feedback sessions. The participants will have their contributions on any stage of the project.
