The Project "THE RIGHT CONNECTION" focuses on specific aspects of human/legal/social rights taking into account The "European Convention of Human Rights". In addition, it will also take into consideration the "Universal Declaration of Human Rights" as well as "the Convention on the Rights of Children". Our aim is to increase the European dimension of our schools and to raise awareness about "EU Citizens' Rights / Human Rights", entrepreneurship, openness to the public in general and innovation of school in the 21st century. Our project pursues the objectives based on the Europe 2020 Growth Agenda. As amatter of fact, it encourages the students to improve acquired and new skills by creating an organization whose focus is to promote "EU Citizens’ Rights /Human Rights “on local, regional, national and European level. It will also help students, parents and involved people in the project to gain access to information thanks to dissemination in public events on local and regional events. Finally, it will contribute to inform the target groups about diversity, especially in the working world by showing how diversity is implemented for people with special needs or disadvantaged groups. The participants of the project primarily consist of students and teachers of the Albertus-Magnus-Gymnasium in Ettlingen (Germany), the Polemidia Gymnasium in Limassol (Cyprus), Lexby Skola in Partille (Sweden) and IES Tirant lo Blanc in Gandia (Spain). An organization similar to NGO or middle-sized company will be created and will bear the project’s title. There will be about 80 students aged 14 to 17 involved in the project. In each school, 20 students will be working in different departments with different tasks for instance operational tasks, public relations, design, event management and communication. The students in each school will meet in weekly sessions in the Erasmus+ Club, will be in constant contact and will closely work together during the short-term exchanges. The whole project will be supervised by a team of teacher with different subjects such as Modern Languages, Social Studies, Religious Education, History, Arts, Geography, Computer Science and Physical Education. The students will be assigned tasks according to their skills and expertise in a certain domain, for example management, event organization, communication, etc. They will be involved in a variety of activities (see project timetable) in order to prepare the main events during the short-term exchanges. These main events will consist of a Marathon Day in Limassol (Cyprus), a conference in Lexby (Sweden) and an exhibition in Gandia (Spain). Diverse stakeholders from the humanitarian, social, professional fields (governmental and non-governmental) will be part of these events. The project will provide results and create products reflecting the variety of the project and its participants. The list of results and products consists ofthe creation of the organization "THE RIGHT CONNECTION", a project booklet, a project Website, an E-twinning project, the creation of project logos, a photo story, a selection of poems/ texts, postcards for the Human Rights Day, evaluations, a periodical newsletter, articles in local/ regional/ national newspapers , an Erasmus+ bulletin board, leaflets ana documentary about the organized events. The participants will take advantage of such a project and develop the exploration of new fields since it involves a wide range of tasks as well as activities and a very high level of commitment. The students will be able to acquire a better understanding of European culture and also diverse working methods and problem solving. In addition, the students will be able to work on topics related to human, social, historical and political issues. Moreover, they can then integrate the acquired information on an interdisciplinary level and apply it to several school subjects. They will organize events and participate in debates/ conferences which will help in their future school, academic and professional career. Finally, the students will improve their ICT, language, communicative and entrepreneurial skills. The project will also improve the teachers' professional skills and will involve the entire school community which will reinforce the connection between the members and foster corporate identity within the school. Finally, teachers will experience team teaching in an international environment and will hence be more confident to implement this working method at their home school. The different stakeholders will benefit of the opportunity to work with teaching staff and students from diverse cultural and traditional backgrounds, to make their work and scope public thanks to the different activities and the dissemination of the project results in traditional and digital media. Finally, in the long run, students might be interested to start a professional career related to a topic dealt with during the project.
