The Meeting Point 2013
Date du début: 1 mai 2013,

Stiftelsen Teknikdalen (The Teknikdalen Foundation) works for regional sustainable growth in the region of Dalarna, Sweden, and has initiated and run approximately 100 regional and international development projects since its establishment in 1987. Stiftelsen Teknikdalen has taken the initiative to establish and develop The Meeting Point (TMP) together with a broad range of partner organisations and private companies. TMP is a new concept that gathers the decision makers of today and tomorrow around real challenges within sustainable development and social responsibility. The Meeting Point will be held during the Peace&Love festival in the city of Borlänge, Dalarna, Sweden. The purpose is to gather people of all age groups, backgrounds and professional positions from a wide range of sectors: politics, research, business, culture, design to find keys and new ideas for solutions to the sustainability related challenges that are presented by TMP's partners. The main aim of TMP is to accelerate positive change concerning real challenges within sustainable development and social responsibility by facilitating a participatory method that allows participants from all sectors of society to be a part of the solution. Other aims are:- To promote sustainable innovation, business development and entrepreneurship.- To create a feeling of empowerment in participants and partners, so that they feel a greater faith in their own ability to act and have an impact in the processes of creating a more sustainable world, wherever they live, study or work.- To integrate the TMP method into the existing inspirational program at the Peace&Love festival. - To promote the region of Dalarna.- To promote a more sustainable event management culture by implementing ISO20121.The foundation of TMP is participation. TMP is a forum where every participant is expected to bring their ideas, experience and social engagement to the table. TMP is also a learning process for everyone involved. The TMP method includes an initial training session in self-leadership, deep-listening awareness, creativity and participation methodology to enhance the actual case discussions. The TMP case partners are private companies or NGOs who bring one of their real sustainability challenges to The Meeting Point. They pay to have their case processed by the participants, showing that they need input from others in order to find the way ahead in a specific issue. This real need for input increases the relevance of the case workshop discussions and creates a sense of importance in the participants. TMP wants to empower all participants by giving them the chance to "be the solution". The case workshops are led by professional process leaders, many of them are trained Kaospilots, who are specifically skilled in navigating uncertain terrain when leading group processes to find new ways ahead. The TMP case partners at TMP 2012 specifically asked for more young people in the case workshop groups, as they bring lots of useful ideas to the table that haven't been formed by company policies or institutional bureaucracy. As TMP builds on experience from previous forums focusing on sustainability and participation like the Tällberg Höstforum, Miljötinget and TMP 2012, it will be a high priority to create the best possible environment that will promote and facilitate a structured dialogue between young people and decision makers from different sectors of society. TMP wants to give young people the opportunity to influence real, sharp sustainability issues that will affect their own future. The TMP program also includes input from a variety of inspirational speakers, cultural performances and other thought provoking elements - all aiming to promote the level of innovative thinking around the cases. TMP aims to include at least 100 young people and at least 100 participants from other age groups during two days in direct connection to the Peace&Love festival in the end of June 2013.
