The Lycian Way II – Trekking and Debating Project is a Multilateral Youth Mobility Project that is going to be organized by Lycian Pathfinders (TR) Youth Group by the active participation of 8 partners. The project is going to be performed both in Cirali Village-Kemer and Kaş (Antalya) which are on the route of the Lycian Way. The date of the project in 24th October -06 November 2014 including the travel days. This is the second step of Lycian Pathfinder’s first project Lycian Way Youth Exchange Project (April 2014). Lycian Civilization is again choosen to host and inspire us as they established an unique democratic and cultural society about 2000 years ago or even more. Targeting the Young People, purposes of The Lycian Way II – Trekking and Debating Project are: 1- Increasing the conscious of active participation and transculturation by cultural and sportive activities 2- Helping them to realize the importance of their role in the society by taking responsibilities 3- Raising awareness about the addictions to technology and modern life which are causing inactivity and passiveness among young people Lycian Pathfinders have identified that young people (i) are abstaining active participation both in social and democratic life in local, national and EU level. Furthermore, young people (ii) are abstaining (active) participation in intercultural activities producing and sharing values. Considering these problems Lycian Pathfinders -with it its partners- targeting the young people and intending to fulfill The Lycian Way – Trekking and Debating Project’s purposes and making a contribution to abovementioned problems. Project partners are Malta, Egypt, Lithuania, Italy, Slovakia,Albania and Turkey. Each partner is going to provide 5 participants (age limit 18-309 including 1 leader and considering gender equality in their team.. Participants are going to participate actively and each partner has certain responsibilities regarding the project activities especially in the Prepations Teams. The main project activites are trekking, debating and drama designed according to project purposes. The framework of these activities have been decided and planned by Lycian Pathfinders but the details and options are going to designed by 3 Preparation Teams (trekking, debating and drama) which will be formed just after the application procedure. The Preparation Teams are going to be formed with at least 5-6 participants interested in these field and they will be contacting each other till the project activities start. Orhun, Bürge and Bulut (TR) are members in the Trekking Preparation Team. Italy , Malta and Lithuania are going to provide eager participants in this team that will preapare the equipment list, set the criterias for choosing the trekking teams and fulfill all relevant responsibilities. There will be 3 trekking paths (18-27 km) and participants will be trekking divided into 4 or 5 groups. Each participant in the trekking groups will be taking certain responsibilities such as first aid, Path Diary officer, leader etc. Kerem and Orhun(TR) are member of Debating Preparation Team and Ecemnur and Yağmur (TR) are member of Drama Preparation Team. Partner countries are going to provide eager participants to these as stated in the application form. Debating and Drama activities are going to be organized at out-door in Cirali and at Antiphellos Ancient Amfitheatre in Kaş. There will be also morning sport sessions, first aid trainning and application, Path Diary Sessions, International Youth Experiences Presentation, NGO Market, Youthpass session, Cultural Nights and even more. All the activities are going to be designed in accordance with the purposes of the project and providing active participation by the wide support of informal and non-formal education methodologies. Trekking, debating and drama activities and as a whole The Lycian Way II – Trekking and Debating Project will effect the young participants positively especially about realizing themselves importance in the society, improving their self-confidence, creating values by active participation in intercultural activities, increasing the will for active participation and preventing inactivity caused by addiction to technology.
