The Great Beauty: exchange of good practices for a better European school.
Date du début: 1 sept. 2014, Date de fin: 31 août 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

‘Rudbeck Gymnasiun’ and the ‘Liceo Scientifico Novello’ , sharing similar curricula, after some cooperations, with school exchanges and lab activities in Sweden and at CusMiBio in Milan, have conceived a project to develop synergically which is the crowning achievement of these former experiences. The title ‘The Great Beauty’ (though it may seem pretentious) aims at exchanging good learning and teaching practices through the creation of an APP for mobile devices. The two schools, one set in the outskirt of Stockolm, the other near Milan, though having common aspects both distinguish themselves for their proper excellencies: Rudbeck (it counts 2000 students and a staff of 150 teachers), boost an educational system based on the know-how with advanced labs where the students tackle what they have learnt, focuses its activity on a great attention on the person and a great ethical concern. The Liceo Novello has a strong, broad based cultural study program based on the know why; it is strongly addressed to the outer world through contacts with universities and local as well as National institutions. The project yearns to create a framework which would ease the exchange of good practices and the development of new skills ranging from IT, to creativity, entrepreneurship, education and respect of the environment; attention on food waste so as to increase and stimulate the students' awareness towards engaging and spreading good practices. The idea is to develop topics concerning the good aspects each school, territory performs, which will then be elaborated and transformed into an APP to be used as a good guide once on the spot. Real examples are: - Actions of attention to the environment (for example Űto archipelago in Sweden and analysis of water; biogas plants in the Po Valley and solar plants which have avoided the setting of nuclear plants) - Good school practices (advanced labs in Rudbeck allow to analyse natural elements; in Italy theoretical lessons with the exam of ancient documents will be held) through which the students are guided to reach proficiency level necessary to their course completion and to their future choices. - The increase and the value of cultural assets (Wasa’s restoration project, Mose’s project in Venice, restoration of violins in Cremona) - Education on a healthy lifestyle and on food waste in both schools and in the areas (analysis of Rudbeck’s school canteen, food waste reduction initiatives in schools, participation to Milan’s EXPO initiatives, whose theme, feeding the planet, intersects with our project ) The final product, will be, as above said, the creation of an APP (RuNo) to be downloaded freely by everybody. Il will be concise, young allowing to have useful synthetic , homogeneous information besides educating to sustainability and good practices. RuNo will be a pacer for other schools and will originate a real mainstream. The students involved in the project would also develop their international entrepreneurship spirit (the APP will be in English and the students will work exclusively in L2) and would explore new methods to be at school, thus becoming makers. The ‘school APP’, will be aimed at a long period policy, will be continually implemented or modified according to the users’ needs. The groups of students taking part in the project, will be selected according to a strong commitment and will be miscellaneous; the students will be on the same level, will have the chance to work according to the tasks assigned on their talent of which they will be made responsible. All the students contributing to the project, especially the less wealthy, will be able to travel to Sweden or to Italy to prove and exchange the good practices realized. The students’ grants are needed to perform the project to ease the mobility and create a common learning framework. The background Rudbeck gymnasium, with 2000 students, a teaching staff of 150 units and 100 clerks, is a flagship of the Swedish education. The school is a real cultural centre, is endowed with advanced labs and is engaged in activities aiming at joining its students’ cultural and creative development. The pupils are stimulated at learning by doing, they have tailor made programs allowing students in difficulty to catch up and enhancing excellencies. In so doing each student reaches an excellent scientific, literary, linguistic level. Rudbeck Gymnasium has never taken part in any European project and with this project it would like to engage in a broader project crossing Swedish boundaries. The Liceo Novello is divided into three sections: scientific, classical and linguisitic (languages taught: English, French, German and Spanish). The school counts up to about 700 students, 60 teachers and 20 cooperators (clerks and caretakers). It has focused its actions on a European level (Comenius Your Europe, your Say). and on a wider speciaziation, promoting cultural initiatives.
