According to The Europe 2020 Strategy and considering the provisions of the Lisbon Treaty meant to "encourage the participation of young people in democratic life in Europe", our partnership consisting of seven schools from Cyprus, the applicant institution, Finland, Turkey, Slovenia, Spain, Bulgaria and Romania, as partners, mainly aims to provide our students with the skills required by the labour market and a competitive economy and thus to find new ways to overcome the socio-economic crisis which affects the European countries we belong to (Cyprus, Bulgaria, Spain, Romania), to generate progress regarding the process of job finding and to foster social equity and inclusion for all our teens despite the differences, especially aimed for the disadvantaged ones (with low basic skills, not eager to continue studying or belonging to minorities etc. ) which have the lowest changes for developing themselves socially and economically. Thus, we mainly aim:
-to implement an increased awareness of the EU values
-to encourage the use of joint vocational training, formal and non-formal education on a larger scale and to implement Life Long Learning for preventing early school leaving and for improving knowledge and skills after finishing school too
-to implement the international dimension of education (mainly by international cooperation and exchanges) into daily activities
-to promote initiative, innovation (i.e. student centered teaching according to his/her needs, abilities, expectations), creativeness, competitiveness and entrepreneurial and management skills
-to increase students and staff motivation for pursuing personal development for a longer period by the means of counseling and career guidance, recognition of their knowledge and skills and the proper promotion/advertisement of their achievements
-to encourage collaboration with small enterprises, public authorities, NGO-s active in socio-economic sectors
-to promote language learning and linguistic diversity, inter-cultural awareness and mother tongue communication
- to encourage school collaboration for enhancing quality in education and making learning more attractive by sharing good innovative practice and materials at all levels (local, regional, international)
The proposed activities, based on the aims of the partnership and their achievement being reflected in the project's final products are designed to:
-improve the curricula: i.e. entrepreneurial lessons to be performed at different subjects (CLIL approach), i.e. proposing optional courses based on job finding
-combine physical and virtual mobility activities (most of the collaborative work will be achieved by the means of ICT: using the collaborative workspace, video conferences, social media for exchanges of information, feedback, materials produced by the students etc.); the real ones are presented in the mobility table
-regularly assess and evaluate the progress of the partnership: surveys, questionnaires, studies
-produce the final products, which for availability (to be used by all the persons interested in the topic) and promotion of language learning and language diversity should be translated in all the partners' languages and which can be workshop products, joint researches, surveys, studies, analyses learning/teaching work materials, open educational resources, pedagogical approaches mainly those delivering key competences and basic skills
-exchange experiences and good practice : virtual collaboration spaces, peer learning, workshops, information and counseling activities, surveys, studies of real life cases in business and industry, the creation of a collaborative blog /web page to discuss and share resources, joint staff training events (study visits, presentations, discussion workshops, training courses), teaching
plans and students' work, initiating virtual business (developing entrepreneurial skills) having in mind the future plans for a vocational aspect of schooling
As the expected impact and effects are supposed to become visible for the target groups aimed (students, teachers, parents, officials), so the dissemination is also designed for specific target groups and is taken care of at all the levels and at every stage of the project (planning, implementation, evaluation, follow-up), coordinators from different schools being in charge with each main aspect.
The main features of our dissemination plan refers to:
-the timetable: before, during, after the project ( i.e. eTwinning), describing targets, tools and outcomes
-feedback from participants, collaboraters, users of products made by participants, quests, officials etc.
-final products in English and mother tongues (where available)
-sharing results, acquired knowledge, outcomes and findings with everyone interested
