Date du début: 1 août 2015, Date de fin: 31 janv. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The Flemish Youth Council will, through it's project EUROPINION that is set up for the structured dialogue, organise a a Flemish Youth Conference with the aim of discussing recommendations and measures to improve the participation of young people in decisions that affect their lives with young people, experts and decision makers. A group of 13 young people, the Europinion youth ambassadors, will, with the help of the coordinator of the project, implement this project. 135 young people, experts and decision makers will be directly involved in the project. The objectives of the project are: - Set up a dialogue with experts and decision makers on the preliminary results and recommendations of the Europinion project. - Collect feedback from relevant actors and stakeholders on the preliminary results and recommendations of the Europinion project. - Collect ideas on how youth participation could be improved on local, regional and national level in Flanders and Belgium. - Test how the recommendations could be transformed to actual changes in real life (school, youth organisation, local government,...); - Meet with policy makers and relevant stakeholder to advocate for the implementation of the recommendations. - Disseminate the results of the project on local and Flemish level. The main activities are: - 4 preparation meetings - focus groups - participation labs - The Flemish Youth Conference - Meeting for evaluating the conference and developing the publication - Developing and disseminating the publication We are taking the opportunity to run a parallel process with EUROPINION on Flemish level to see how the participation of young people on local and regional level can be improved. In this way we want to create a strong interlinkage between the youth policy developments at local, regional, national and European level. It will help make the recommendations for the European process more bottom up and, at the same time, using the European process to strengthen the work in Flanders. Through the dialogue we set-up we want to encourage policy makers to reflect on the issue of participation of young people in decision making processes, to offer some solutions that would improve the situation and to influence the quality of Flemish youth policy. In addition, the Flemish Youth Council will use the outcomes as the basis of an advice that then will be spread to policy makers and other stakeholders and form the basis for a continued dialogue on the topic. The combined efforts to disseminate the outcomes of the projects (publication, media coverage, contact with decision makers) allow us to reach all the different target groups of the project (young people, policy makers, youth organisations and the general public).
