The European Process from the ECC to EU. A Historical Overview from the Political Experience.

EU-HOPE can be summarized in four strategic goals:-SG 1. Fostering the excellence teaching and research in European values in accordance with Article 2 of the Treaty on European Union by equip students, professionals and citizens with knowledge of European Union subjects relevant for their academic and professional lives and enhance their civic skills and competences in a multidisciplinary and cross-border context. -SG 2. Promoting active dialogue between students, professionals, citizens and policy-makers, in particular to enhance governance of EU policies.-SG 3. Encouraging and facilitating research and first teaching experience for young researchers and scholars and practitioners in European Union issues.-SG 4. Fostering knowledge transfer and disseminations of research result resulting from the study of EU integration and constituting the basis for future poles of European knowledge, particularly between Spain and Portugal.The activities proposed in EU-HOPE project are mainly focused in the teaching of a 60 hours module called “European integration process from EEC to EU. A historical overview from the political experience”, but any other activities will add value to reach a greater public. These activities will be: cross border seminars and conferences, events addressed to primary and secondary schools, training courses for teaching and administrative staff and researcheers, International Summer courses, innovative activities “coffees with science” to interact with citizens and deal with European issues. The development of EU-HOPE activities will generate several deliverables that contribute mainly to reach the strategic goals 1 and 4: Scientific publications, journals, didactic materials and books.Finally, after the 3 years of this Jean Monnet Module, it is expected to improve participants' skills and competences on European matters.
