The Eurocultured Project 2010 - 2011
Date du début: 17 mai 2010,

The Eurocultured Project is a fully integrated program of youth projects, in depth artist residency program and a series of linked cultural events that will take place in UK, Finland, Slovakia and Romania over a 18 month period. The project naturally splits into 3 separate yet strands:Strand 1: A series of projects involving at least 2 artists from different countries and from various artistic backgrounds. They will deliver a project with young people based on the question, 'What does Europe mean to you?'The artists will develop and create a piece of work with their youth group over a week, the work will be showcased to the general public at an event at the end of each project. Each project will be documented, a short film and accompanying booklet will be created and posted online as a means of suggesting ways that artists from different countries can engage with young people as a means of promoting understanding of different cultures and developing European Citizenship.Strand 2: Once these projects are completed 6 of the artists involved will meet and discuss their experiences. From these discussions they will be asked to propose a piece of multi disciplinary work to the coorganisers. Once signed off the artists will be commissioned to develop and create the large scale piece of work as a team over a 6 month period. They will spend time together in residencies in different countries and in between they will stay in touch via the internet. The work could take any form but must be completed on budget and on schedule to be presented to the general public as part of a street festival in Turku as part of the Capital of Culture 2011.Strand 3: A series of events that will take place in different countries under the Eurocultured banner, some are established events, others are brand new, they will be platforms at which the work created in strands 1 and 2 can be showcased to the public alongside varied content from at least 21 EU countries. 40,000+ will attend.
