Date du début: 1 oct. 2015, Date de fin: 30 sept. 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

“Consumer Society” concept is becoming a concept which we face more in modern society and in our lives. The feeling that people need any goods even if they do not need, directs people unnecessary consumption or overconsumption. This have made us prepare a research like this. In the 45th Project Competition among secondary schools, students of Maltepe Military High School ranked the 1st in Turkey in Sociology branch by “The Effect of Children over Consumption, Social Analysis of Chilrens’ Effect over Parent Consumption Decisions". We aim to flourish the results from this project with international projects and more importantly, to attain consumption awareness with concrete training material which will appear in schools. As a result, the problem with which we will deal in the project is detected and the appropriate solutions are started to be looked for. As a result of the negotiations via eTwinning for ERASMUS+ project partnership, we reached a consensus with Portugal. Italy, Croatia and Romania about strategic partnership. The schools which we negotiate about strategic partnership have stated that they have similar problems as well. These findings motivated us to name the project “The Effect of Children on Consumption and Sustainable Consumption Training” into practice. In this project; groups, who see consumption as a reality, are influenced by special days and advertisements, experience the negative effects of mass media, do not have awareness of organization and defending their rights, are insensitive to the resources of our world, are aimed to be a sensitive and aware consumers in all areas such as environment, nutrition, clothing, time, money etc. At the very beginning of the project, with our partners we will research what has been done about “consumption and consumption culture” in countries’ education systems and in countries’policies about children and youth. After comparing countries’ approaches and point of views about this issue, studies similar to this issue will be examined by making literature search. At this stage, we will search under the titles of consumer society in the database of digital broadcasting, the effect of family and child in consumption, world consumption report, children’s rights etc. Data obtained at the end of the literature search will be analyzed and be made into a report in order to discuss over. At the first meeting, there will also be a questionnaire in which Sustainable Consumption Training Module will be applied and which will be prepared to measure their consumption habits by considering the family environment in 14-16 years olds grow up. Activities and drama activities will be planned for the training module with which it will be prepared along. Five international meetings will be planned in order to reach the goals of the project. In these meetings, the details, opportunities and risks of working plan will be negotiated, activities and applications for Sustainable Training Module will be prepared and the results of the training module which were implemented in the last two meetings will be analyzed. Additionally, in the activities where there is student mobility, there will be special activities for European Citizenship and intercultural learning. Applications, activities, visual materials etc. designed by teachers and students will be performed for five days as a pilot application in the host schools and their results will be assessed. Activities which have proved its effectiveness and quality will be recorded on a DVD with the name of Sustainable Consumption Training. Apart from planning project studies in the international meetings, it is aimed to create awareness about internalizing the concepts of democracy and European Citizenship, respecting cultural differences, overcoming the prejudices, international team work and gaining cooperation experience. The intellectual output of our project will be Sustainable Consumption Training Module. This module will be shared with national and international training directors in DVD format. For intellectual outputs, produced within the content of the project, to disseminate to other sectors, a multiplier activity will be performed. National academicians will attend to this panel activity. Teachers, administrators, students from the area of the coordinator school as participants and students and teachers as project representatives of their schools which are partners of the project will attend this activity. To popularize the activities and the results of the project, a WEB page and a project magazine whose name is “Consuming or Consumed?” will be designed and distributed in terms of sustainability. In the activities under the title of learning-teaching-training activities, trips will be organized in order to develop their communication skills by using foreign languages, establish long term friendships and observe life styles of different cultures among the organization of host schools.
