Youth unemployment, the inequality in education and training, social exclusion from quality services, social discrimination, poverty and risk of exclusion, are topics on which national and local European institutions are focusing, through the implementation of specific programs and policies.
We therefore decided to carry out this project with the aim of developing in young people from Europe and beyond, specific skills and knowledge on youth social inclusion in a cross-cultural context through the language of photography and video. We believe that the photos and videos always tell a story, they are universal languages through which convey important messages, made by young people for young people around the world, especially in the age of social media where information can become in a short time viral and can have a positive and lasting on the mentality of young people.
Educational methods using non-formal and informal (role plays, panel discussions, practical and creative workshops, outdoor, etc.) Activities, the project gave young people the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of themselves and of their limits with aims to overcome, promoting photography and video making as tools to promote social inclusion and to sensitize young people on important civic issues.
The project involved 39 young people from Italy, Poland, Moldova, Armenia, Romania and Georgia,in social engagement activities and volunteer, interested in contemporary social and cultural issues, but also to take photographs and video creation.
The exchange, took place in Moldova, was based on the relationship between culture, diversity, habits and lifestyles that contribute to the construction of a common European consciousness. There were moments of socialization and integration, which were managed through activities designed to recognize the elements that distinguish and approaching the participants: the languages, styles and daily habits, traditions through folk music, themed dinners, games on the culture of the individual countries , multimedia and photo activities, etc.
Through role playing, simulations, round tables and especially through photos and video hands-on activities, participants had the opportunity to study and reflect on the topics listed above.
