The Daring Youth

This project is a long-term EVS project aimed at supporting the mobility of 4 Italian young people in two different neighbouring countries, Russia and Jordan. The Italian sending organization "Consorzio Solidarietà Sociale" will send the volunteers, divided in couples, to the "Regional Children's Library" in Nizhniy Novgorod (Russian Federation) for a period of 10 months and to "I-Dare for sustainable development" in Amman (Jordan) for a period of 6 months. The project is called "The Daring Youth" and aims at promoting active citizenship, youth participation and mutual understanding in intecultural contexts. In accordance with the general objectives of the Erasmus+ programme and the priorities of the Youth sector, we want to offert the volunteers involved the opportunity to develop key competencies and improve the level of their skills by making a signifying experience in two very specific cultural contexts.The volunteers going to Nizhniy Novgorod Regional Children's Library will be involved in the work with children and youth within the Library but also in schools and orphanages developing activities connected with languages, literature and culture of various countries. Moreover, supported by the staff, the volunteers will organize competitions, workshops, events addressed to visitors of the Library and pupils in schools. Besides, the volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in a geography club based in the Library where different themes are discussed and which involve Russian volunteers as well. The volunteers going to I-Dare will work mainly in the Hub created by the organization which offers co-working space, networking events, promotion and marketing, communication, capacity building based on needs assessment to local young social entrepreneurs who wants to develope their initiatives and ideas. The volunteers will support the staff in the management and promotion of the Hub and will also be asked to develop their own initiatives. Methodology used to implement the project will be that of active participation, "learning by doing" and problem-based learning through which we expect to offer the volunteers an excellent experience and make them gain new competences and skills which can be applied to a future job as well.
