The participants of this Training Course were 32 young people (aged 18-30 years old) working in the field of LGBT rights, as well as Human Rights, coming from: Cyprus, Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Lithuania and Italy. 10 participants were individuals with fewer opportunities. The main activities delivered have been designed in accordance to the objectives of this training course. The first activities that were carried out aimed to enhance the participants awareness on the concept of culture, stereotypes and prejudice and on the impact culture has on the issues the LGBT community is facing in Europe. Then the participants took part in a role-play activity, aiming to enhance the participants' understanding of the power each individual has in the process of change. The participants then became familiar with the concept of awareness raising campaigns and created a video promoting LGBT rights as a first step to their own campaign. Finally, the participants ran their own awareness campaign against homophobia in the local community, which they continued in their own countries. All activities have used non-formal education and self-learning methods. The participants have reflected on all activities carried out, in an effort to consolidate the knowledge and skills obtained. Effective evaluation methods have been used to asses the quality of all activities. The expected impact of this training course was the improvement of the skills and the enhancement of the knowledge of the participants in the field of culture and LGBT rights. Furthermore, all necessary tools were provided to the participants and their organisations in order to embark on a campaign to battle burning issues in their societies. Finally, through this training course and in collaboration with all partners, an international campaign against homophobia started.
