Tex-EASTile: sustainable innovation for textile in South East Europe (Tex-EAStile)

Tex-EASTtile aims to spread and boost knowledge and application of environmental certification to products and processes in home textile and work wear within SEE area. Assuming that eco-design labels are synonym of high technical products and improved company culture, the project wants to contribute to the reinforcement of the competitive positioning of textile enterprises within the SEE area. This objective will be pursued by adopting a threefold strategy: A) harmonization of the operators competences and knowledge with regard to green marketing tools, so to individuate homogenous methods of application; B) testing of the tools on SMEs, so to increase the enterprises awareness on green certification and promote new targeted project initiatives; C) enhancement of eco-sustainability principles in Public Administration internal management, so to encourage PA in assuming the role of potential buyer and supporter of more favorable market conditions for the diffusion of environmentally friendly products. All the above mentioned actions will result in the creation of a "Community of Excellence" participated by research centers innovation and technological institutes, SMEs, Public Administrations, universities, Chambers of commerce, development agencies and other stakeholders. Starting from a shared and homogeneous knowledge on the theme, the Community will contribute to improve SMEs competitiveness, based on the fact that the easiest is forthe eco-label to be recognized and understood, the strongest is the warranty message it communicates in terms of product high value and quality company processes.
