Date du début: 15 août 2016, Date de fin: 14 oct. 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The organisation Terres d'enfance aims at carrying out educational activities based on trust, self-respect, respect for others and its environment. It has opened a school in Die (Drôme) in september 2013 for children aged from 3 to 6. The school is based on Montessori pedagogy and environmental education. Since september 2015, we are now hosting a group of pupils aged from 6 to 9.The total number of pupils is now 25.Since january 2014, Terres d'enfance has been hosting an EVS volunteer during a school year. The volunteer enhances the school team and brings to the project an intercultural dimension. The job is to accompany children in their learnings. The main themes are the needs of 3 to 9 aged children, Montessori pedagogy and environmental education. We are looking for candidates - available for about 10 months, from mid august up to the beginning of july- with a real interest in accompanying young children in their learnings- eager to discover/deepen their knowledge in Montessori pedagogy- be attentive to themselves and the others, with goodwill- ready to live an experience in a rural and mountainous environment. The carried out activities are many and varied : morning welcome of children, care of children (dressing / undressing, hygiene), set and tidy the table, books reading, singing, cooking, gardening, handicrafts, arts, sports, etc. With the agreement of the school team, the volunteer can develop her own projects, according to her competences, her personal and professional wishes. For example : cooking workshops, manual activities, gardening, producing communication media about EVS, creating an event about youth and european mobility. The working methods among the organisation are active participation, dialogue, experiment and results' assessment. We propose hosting conditions that enable volunteers to listen to their desires and make them realize, to become mature and blossom on personal, citizen and professional levels. With the sending organizations, we try to build relationships based on solidarity and mutual enrichment.Month after month, we can see how the pupils develop their interest and tolerance regarding the volunteers. They consider the language and culture differences as "treasures". We are happy to see how our children develop a European identity. They feel like actors of a world full of cultures and languages.
