Project TEMERARII represents an initiative following a needs assessment done by OTI Romania, which aims to provide for 16 volunteers relevant learning experiences and key competencies, acknowledged by Youthpass Certificates until the end of the project. Project thematic is connected with main activities performed by the organization in educational and social field. Ofensiva Tinerilor cu Initiativa Romania developed partnerships with relevant public institutes and organisations supporting people with disabilities. Project idea was generated by the recent findings of Watch and Motivation Romania study for period 2014, June-August. This audit reports the low accessibility levels in public urban areas, such as, Bucharest, Arad, Ramnicu-Valcea; issues concerning social inclusion and cultural integration of people with locomotion disability(http://www.activewatch.ro/Assets/Upload/files/Raport%20audit%20urban.pdf). Project main goal is to provide a learning experience for 16 international volunteers, by doing activities favouring the social inclusion of this target group. Project objectives are: O1) Developing transferable competencies for 16 volunteers, coming from Czech Republic, Italy, FYROM and Turkey hosted within the framework of SEV youth mobility for 5 months; O2) Promotion of active participation of locomotion disabled people from Arad to social and cultural life during 24 months; O3) Cooperation development between 5 youth organisations from Czech Republic, Italy, FYROM, Romania and Turkey on volunteering, youth participation, support for inclusion of locomotion disabled young/ adult during the project. In order to achieve above mentioned objectives it was designed a program of activities conducting to learning outcomes for volunteers and staff involved, as to increase the level of inclusion of disabled people and to raise awareness for youngsters coming from project countries regarding Erasmus + and SEV opportunities. Within the project we will host 16 international volunteers, coming from 4 countries. The project is structured on 2 successive youth mobilities lasting 5 months each mobility. The following activities will accomplish O1 and O2: a) Accessibility for disabled people campaign in Arad and raising awareness within the society concerning the importance of this issue in towards social cohesion; b) Promotional activities in favour to active participation of disabled people to social and cultural life from Arad; c) Support actions and promotion of parasports in Arad; d) Educational activities in special care centers from Arad, with disabled children such as: drawing, board games, handcrafts, chess and musical games; e) interactive workshops for language classes and intercultural learning activities with youngsters from social care centers from Arad (Caminul Social Arad and Occupational Therapy and Integration Center „Tabacovici”). When designing program activities we used non-formal education methods for the benefit of volunteers and people involved in the activities, to maximize the impact of the project in the life of the participants. Volunteers will be constantly supported for activities during the mobility. Hosting organisation will provide mentorship for volunteers, based on reflection and capitalization of experiences and validation of competences acquired during the mobility, within Youthpass Certificate. OTI Romania applies a good project management principles to manage the project and is carrying APV (A1) for good cooperation between partners, sharing of experience and dissemination of results. Main results are envisaged by al promoters, in terms of learning outcomes of the volunteers and life and working experience acquired here. Volunteers will develop outputs and deliverables such as: promotional materials concerning inclusion of locomotion disabled people, para-sports activities, inter-cultural events, workshops with youngsters and children with disabilities, round-table with relevant public institutions and specific organisations from Arad. Project intend to create durable impact at local/national level to stimulate urban communities to understand the needs of integration and social inclusion for disabled people.
