PROJET
TERMINÉ
Located in Ankara, our school is a secondary school attended mostly by the children of lower income and lower educated families migrated from various rural areas of Anatolia. Operated in dual education system (morning shift and afternoon shift), there are 3 administrators, 67 teachers, 2 civil servants and 3 attendants in the school.SWOT analysis conducted by Total Quality Improvement Team in the school has found out the weakness and lack of competency in use of technology. To improve this situation, the school management decided to launch a project study to learn effective use and benefits of interactive boards and tablets launched under FATIH Project of MoNA, to observe different methods and techniques, material production, materialization of abstract concepts as well as to compare the programs implemented and their effects by cooperating with our European partners from Spain- Madrid and Austria- Graz. The project intends to improve IT literacy of the teachers and pupils and to get utmost benefit of IT in educational field. The teachers involved in the project will exchange their experience with other teachers during the regular periodic meetings organized in district and province levels assisting the project to create a multiplying effect as well as contributing to dissemination of its results.The project idea was notified to all the teachers in the school through an official letter of the school administration. A project team composed of 12 volunteer teachers was formed among willing teachers who meet the project criteria and who may contribute to success of the project. The project team includes 2 Turkish Course teachers, 2 English Language teachers, 1 Mathematics teacher, 1 Science and Technology teacher, 2 Information Technologies teachers, 1 Music Lesson teacher, 1 Technology and Design Course teacher, 1 Social Sciences teachers and 1 Guidance counsellor. The project team aims to learn European aspect of IT through the training courses to be organized in Spain- Madrid and Austria- Graz, to exchange the experiences with the target groups for the purposes of creating a school environment where there individuals in need of qualified education may feel themselves safe and happy, to experience and share with the stakeholders the novelties introduced to education life with technology in 21st century, to internationalize our school through effective use of IT tools, digital developments and new technologies and to contribute improving the education by uplifting it to European level. This course will enable the teachers involved to observe in place development and contributions of new and creating IT methods in Europe to the education system of the member countries. The project will enrich learning and teaching strategies of the teachers, improve their professional competencies leading to improving their self-confidence as well as ensuring the school reaching its IT related objectives defined under its five years’ strategic development plan.Thanks to IT competencies improved during the project, the teachers will be able to design education materials for interactive boards and they will be able to provide feedback about their own productions. Exchanging their experience with other teachers and other stakeholders, they will help making the education permanent and joyful by improving their aspects on education through meeting the needs of the students having diversified learning patterns (visual, audio, kinaesthetic, touching). The project website will be promoted over the school’s official web site and social media to increase visibility and dissemination. The success of the project shall be measured through materialization of difficult abstract concepts using IT tools, level of achieving permanent learning as well as through improved success of students in Exam for Transition from Primary Education to Secondary Education (“TEOG”).The course will help exchange of experiences and good practices with the peers attending to the course from different European countries. Sharing the knowledge and experience acquired with the stakeholders, we intend to convert the school into a centre of attention by the end of the project by maximizing realization of objectives, improving awareness on opportunities offered under Erasmus+ program.
