Technical Office Management
Date du début: 1 oct. 2010,

The content of the project is the curriculum development of a training in technical and mechanical as well as commercial and, management skills. The training will enclose 180 credits of which a minimum of 30 credits will be interchangeable. These 30 credits will be organized in English, French and/or German. Such training creates the possibility to have a mandatory abroad semester by 'virtual' or real-life exchange mobility. The outcome for the student is then a double Bachelor degree. The goal of the project is not to create five clones of one training; All partners will fill in aspects of the training according to their own specific strengths. By using the mobility system, students will choose their own course path and final specialization: It is even possible for a student to study five semesters abroad (practical period included) instead of the one mandatory semester. All project partners will apply for this nationally in the near future. The CD project creates the opportunity to start with a training that, from it's foundations upwards, neatly integrates the priorities of the European commission (student mobility, semesterial organization, distance education...)This training acts a a response to persistent industrial demand. Even in times of crisis, job vacancies that require commercially and managerially trained technical staff are very hard to fulfil. Companies need to reorient commercially trained staff towards technology which is time consuming and cost intensive. Currently there are large groups of students (where both genders are equally represented) that study socio-economic sciences, who have the perfect profile for these jobs but never find the path towards higher technical education. This project formulates an answer to this problem. Additionally, the proposed curriculum has the qualities to attract unseen quantities of female students towards technically oriented trainings, potentially boosting the female/male ratio in the technical work field.
