The EVS project "THEATRE AND COMMUNITY" promotes the participation of two young people from Greece and France in the activities of the Association Residui Teatro. The project will be developed in the city of Madrid, in the CENTRO DE ARTESANIA DE LAS ARTES ESCENICAS (CAAE), multiethnic island in the heart of the city, in Calle Ercilla 48, a place dedicated to the art-education as a way to promote the personal, social and political transformation. The project lasts 16 months and has the aim to involve the two young people in the activities with local groups, national or international communities. The aim is to develop and encourage the progress of a look towards the growth of European citizenship. The volunteers will participate in community activities focused to raise awareness about: inclusion, human rights, children rights, rights of people with different abilities. During the project, the volunteers will learn and build useful skills that they can use in the future, in the field of the volunteering or as well in work contexts. "THEATRE AND COMMUNITY" would like to create a straight connexion with the community/ neighbours and with the international community that is used to pass through C.A.A.E. (immigrants, youth from UE countries etc), in order to use the strategic power of the art to help the human being to understand the World, open their point of view, collaborate, listen and find creative and effective solutions to the conflicts, rejecting always the violence. Project beneficiaries, besides the volunteers, will be groups of people from vulnerable contexts, the local community and the international network of contacts that we are developing and those ones that are already used to collaborate with our association. The volunteers will take part in the organization of public activities (workshops about art and not-formal education, entertainment activities in the neighbourhood, training courses, meetings, documentation of the association activities in order to be reproduced even in other contexts etc) and will develop a personal project that will be used to disseminate the project results.
