Teadusmuuseum ja haridus: kuidas kaasata täiskasvanud õppija muuseumi haridustegevusse
Date du début: 1 juin 2016, Date de fin: 31 août 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The aim of the project "Science Museum and Education: How to Involve Adult Learners into Museum's Educational Activities" carried out by the the University of Tartu Museum is to improve the quality of the educational programmes directed to adult learners in Estonian museums and bring the scientific discoveries of the University of Tartu to the wider audience. During the project the current educational programmes directed to adult learners and their methodology will be analysed and a work group will be summoned together with an aim to develop new programmes. During the study visit to Italy's biggest science museum in October 2016, good practices will be shared with Italian colleagues but also with the colleagues from Germany, Hungary, Denmark and Belgium since the in-service training course is international. The main project partner will be the educational department from the National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinci in Milan with an opportunity to learn from their experience and use their help in updating University of Tartu Museum's educational and public programmes. The study visit helps to enrich the experiences in the field of adult education, museum as an informal study institution and the role of science and the museums in the society. Since there are no widespread and/or rooted rules in the museum landscape in Estonia in the field on adult education and introducing science, therefore, it is necessary to search for partnership and good practices from Europe. In the course of the project at least two new interactive and inquiry-based programmes or activities will be worked out for the adult visitors of the University of Tartu Museum, which are related to the museum's permanent exhibition and the science instrument exhibition dedicated to G. F. Parrot, which will be opened in 2017. New methodologies and formats of the programmes will be introduced and shared in our own organisation but also outside The University of Tartu Museum and Tartu. Regular meetings of the Estonian museum educators give a chance to present experiences and give advice to other museums providing (science) education. As a result of the project the Unversity of Tartu Museum and the scientific discoveries of the scientists related to the University of Tartu and their role in the society and science history will be better known, the interest towards natural sciences and tehcnology will be increased in the Estonian society and the overall quality of the educational activities provided by the museums in Tartu and Estonia is increased.
