Teacher Virtual Campus: Research, Practice, Apply
Date du début: 1 oct. 2009,

With the Bologna process and the Lisbon strategy, the demands for a significant increase in academic mobility are being accompanied by new challenges: quality in HE, and modernisation of Universities' agenda, and new competences necessary for academic staff (AS). According to U.Teichler (EUA Bologna Handbook, 2007),"both student mobility and professional mobility of highly qualified labour within Europe might have increased from being a rare exception to one among many options". However, mid-term studies of Bologna process showed that despite the efforts of all EU initiatives, student and AS mobility did not increase as expected. According to Eurobarometer, 2006, "geographical and job mobility in the EU remain rather limited". It is commonly agreed that transnational mobility of AS and students directly influence the quality and the nature of curriculum, meeting European study and open content quality criteria. Virtual mobility of AS meets university needs in different aspects: it becomes a positive requirement for the creation of new organisational models for providing HE in Europe, opens possibilities for all AS to develop their skills and competences and to reach new agreements with multinational European institutions for virtual exchange, becoming competitive professionals and researchers, ensuring possibilities to get new jobs all over Europe as highly professional members of educational labour market. European dimensions of quality for research and studies are integrated into diverse HE institutions, those who have rich experience in international mobility, and those who have certain restrains in getting this experience, as experience and skills are gained by integration into existing European cooperation frameworks. TeaCamp project contributes to the needs to increase virtual mobility among AS by facilitating: a) HE institutions to realize necessary steps to be undertaken to ensure full academic virtual exchange and recognition of academic virtual processes, b) AS to prepared, develop and implement virtual mobility, despite of their economic, social and other restraints, c) researchers to implement transnational comparative research, d) institutions and students to benefit from updated and qualitative curriculum, to ensure availability and accessibility of qualitative curriculum for various LLL target groups. The aim of TeaCamp project is to increase virtual mobility among AS by facilitating development, management and implementation of virtual research and mobility and by improving their virtual mobility competences. TeaCamp will ensure exploitation of project results and academic recognition of TeaCamp virtual mobility, and will take into consideration organizational, pedagogical, research and economic factors by didactical strategy chosen and by producing the following project deliverables:D.1. Recommendations for institutional regulations for AS and student virtual mobility implementation and full academic recognition (produced by all partner institutions, in English).D.2. TeaCamp virtual campus with the tools for AS to develop curriculum content (open and closed), implement virtual mobility, evaluate learning results and implement international comparative research).D.3. Curriculum content (based on learning results) developed by each partner institution (except internal quality evaluator) for international virtual mobility of students, including learning/ teaching scenarios.D.4. Study on virtual mobility for teachers and students based on international comparative research results, using TeaCamo VC tool.D.5. TeaCamp exploitation strategy, based on recommendations (D.1) and research results (D.4).TeaCamp will clearly have positive impact on increased AS mobility in Europe, AS members will be able to have multilateral and numerous agreements, as they will not face economical and social restraints, curriculum quality improvement and professional AS improvement.
