Teacher Education Review and Update of Curriculum

The project goal is mutual collaboration among experts in curriculum development within Europe to enhance the quality of teacher education, namely in Moldova universities by updating and harmonization of curricula in line with the labour market demands, and according to Bologna requirements and Tuning methodology.Objectives:- To bring the current curriculum programs in teacher education (Bachelor and Master Level) at the partner universities in line with the Bologna requirements and using the Tuning methodology.- To implement, monitoring and evaluate and staff development courses to academics in using new methodology, especially student centered approach, in particular in the context of teacher education.-To innovate, implement, and validate the curricula for future teachers at 8 faculties by September 2013.The main outputs/outcomes:State of the art in teacher education in partner universities of Moldova.A set of renewed syllabi and study programs in Teacher Education approved and implemented.-Guidelines (elaborated and implemented) in curriculum development (methodologies on student centered approach, alignment teaching-learning-assessment and workload matrices; students' competences for employability, e-learning environments).Resources for university teachers and students (helpdesks, digital repository of resources).300 retrained academic staff6 innovated courses in Teacher Education implemented.600 trained students with renewed curricula at Bachelor and Master levels at 8 faculties.network of promoters in alignment approach established.students' competences for employability enhanced.updated technical facilities/skills of the technical staff.quality control reports.Dissemination products (project web site, leaflets, papers) and events.Management of the project performed.The targeted area is teacher education faculties. The actuality of the project is well grounded, as Bologna implies revising and promotion of innovations.
