Project: Teacher Development Time: 12 months Our aim is to be active and ready to trigger changes in terms of modernisation and international opening. Our priority is to enhance our effectiveness in the field of teaching English. We are focusing on English now because from the year 2015 every student in year 6 of the primary school will be obliged to take an exam in English. We would like to inrease capacity to operate at UE/international level and develop student's tolerance to European diversity. To promote Eruropean values and better undserstanding of European diversity itself, the good coomand of English is essential. While being examined by some Educational Authorities it turned out that our school isn't innovative enough, that is why we have decided to reach for other useful means in education. Learning mobilty is our goal. Our school has had on offer extra English lessons for English gifted students for five years. The whole programme is entitled: "English extra- developing communication competence". As a part of this programme my English teacher Mrs Agnieszka Lata?a orgnises twice a year two English contests. One of them - English Quiz is for year 3, while the second Great Britain Quiz for grade 5-6. These activities are a platform of cooproatinon between English teachers from our region. Besides, our pupils are very successful in other English contest of different levels. This year we have statred to prepare our pupils to take Movers exam as well. Mrs Lata?a is also a school cordinator of Albus- English contest. Tasks there are a real challenge, students must be familiar with English idioms and colloquial language too. With the beginning of the 2014/2015 school year E-twinning programme will be included into School Programme, so we are deeply interested in finding some partners to this venture. We have some experience with E-twinning, so far we have been member of two such programmes. Our aim is to reinforce cooperation with partners from other countries and increase quality in preparation, implementation, monitoring and follow up of EU/international projects. Although we are a small village school we want to ensure our students the foreign language education at the highest level. Our school is to enhance intercultural awarness. While language is developing all the time we want to be conscious of all the new trends so Contemporary English course would make us more response to liguistic and social changes. Only Mrs Lata?a is to take part in mobility, other particpiants (5 people) are English teachers from our neighbourhood. It is worth mentioning that Mrs Lata?a is also an English Teacher in Primary School in Polany. Mrs Lata?a has a great role in integrating these local teachers mainly inviting them with their students for English contests twice a year. She would share the konwledge acquired in Contemporary English course organising some trainings and workshops for other teachers. Such an activity would have a great impact on the system of education in our school. The teachers would become more professional, and that would improve students' learning performance and their motivation as well. Our aim is also to organise a kind of exibition on contemporary Cambridge and Oxford using authentic materials from the mobility. This event will be popular not only among the teachers and students. Our school wants to have attractive programmes for students in line with their needs and expectations . Better quality of our work is in favour of our students.
