Teacher Development
Date du début: 1 août 2014, Date de fin: 31 juil. 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Gadinti Secondary School is located in the rural area, in a village characterized by poor economic and social development, which reflects negatively on our school institution both in terms of financial resources (local funds for school endowment and funding its activities) and of human resources (financial and social situation of our students). Our school has 224 students and 19 teachers, assigned to three educational levels - preschool, primary and secondary. Our main objective is the complex development of student (in terms of knowledge, skills, attitudes, beliefs and value system) so at the end of an educational level they will have the skills and flexibility to insert in the next one. After analyzing the needs of our school, stands out a clear need to invest teachers and therefore students with a range of knowledge, skills and abilities required by the European standards of education. Therefore, our approach to the development and modernization of the school starts with teachers, as direct providers of education, since the results of the educational institution depend, in a significant extent, on the quality of their teaching. The goals that we proposed to accomplish through this project will increase the quality of education and ensure a European dimension of our school. They aim to develop professional skills necessary for teaching and learning using modern, interactive, student-centered methods, and digital skills so important in the management and processing of information in acquiring knowledge and adapting to new approaches that will enhance the abilities, skills and European awareness to both teachers and pupils. The project aims to train, through mobility activities, five teachers (25% of all our teachers), which will become multipliers of knowledge and skills acquired. In this way, all our teachers will benefit (direct or indirect) of training and professional development. The courses we chose meet our needs and aim the methodological and pedagogical development of teachers by assimilating various aspects of 21st Century methodology (”Teaching through 21st Century Methodologies”, provided by the International Training Centre, Czech Republic) and developing the skills to use technology and ICT tools ("Empowerment in ICT Skills" provided by Executive Training Institute, Malta). Participation to international training will enable our teachers to gain new experiences not only in terms of scientific content, but also in European culture. In this way, we can have a broader perspective on European diversity and education. Applying a well-reasoned strategy and fair and transparent criteria in the selection of personnel participating in the mobility activities, were formed two groups that will benefit from training in Europe: three teachers (from each educational level) will be trained in ICT, and foreign language teachers will get to learn the specific methodologies of 21st century. All teachers selected are characterized by the willingness to improve their professional competences and to streamline the teaching activity. They are involved in school life, carrying out various actions with the students and helping them to achieve better academic results. Impact generated by this project will ensure the improvement of the professional competences and skills; improved abilities to use innovative and student-centered pedagogical approaches and to develop appropriate assessment and certification methods, based on learning outcomes; broader understanding of practices, policies and systems in education; encouragement of sharing best practices, ideas and materials between colleagues within the EU; improvement of teaching and learning of languages and promotion the EU’s broad linguistic diversity and intercultural awareness. The teachers will produce multidisciplinary lesson materials using modern tools and methodology, and a file with activities that encourage students to think creatively and use critical thinking skills. Innovative approaches will be used in teaching; new attractive subjects will be introduced to students according to their needs and expectations. All these will increase the quality and diversity of education in our school. The contact with teachers from other European countries will ensure European cooperation and will establish an Erasmus+KA2 educational partnership. In the long-term, the project will bring its contribution to improvement of the national education system which will meet the requirements of international education.
