Aim of this project: Councelling and adult trainig in Vocational Education Centre of Tartu has high quality and is available for every target group.
There are about 2500 adult learners every year in training and councelling centre of Vocational Education Centre of Tartu and we are important partner in developing emloyees in the area.
It is important that employees of the biggest adult education centre are competent to assure training quality and to attract target groups. Slovenia has a lot of similar principles in adult education politics and organisation that is why comparing the best practices is relevat.
Ljudska univerza Koper has been the only public institution for adult education in the Slovene Littoral since 1953. It consists of three units. In the last decade over 25.000 people studied in our education programs. Between 1959 and 1961 there were three independent university extensions for adult education in the area, founded by the communities of Koper, Izola and Piran. In 1973 they were joined into one institution, The Littoral University Extension Ivan Regent. It was thus in 1994 that the municipality of Koper founded “Ljudska univerza Koper”, keeping the units in Izola and Piran.
They cover all the basic fields in formal education at all levels; in addition they carry out programs in vocational and technical education that are the same as in our school, courses in free-time activities, and seminars in personal growth.
They also partake in several national and international projects through the last years.
Their institution with all the employees strive for competence, accessibility and efficiency. They are oriented towards the future. They express their dedication to each and every individual through a sincere personal approach. They choose highly skilled and motivated collaborators and confide in teamwork, co-operation and correctness.
In 2005 Ljudska Univerza Koper was part of the project that worked out system of assuring quality in adult education and using it very effectively. In Vocational Education Centre of Tartu we do not have any quality assurance system but that is one of our priorities.
The project involves 6 of Vocational Education Centre of Tartu employees: manager of training and councelling centre, adult training and career counsellor, marketing manager, training secretary and 2 training managers. It is important that even though we all have different purposes, all of our aims are achieved with the same mobility. So during the mobility there are going to be analyses about Slovenian best practices and assessing the effectuation of the practices.
Main outcomes of the project:
1. Employees in the training and consulting centre of Vocational Education Centre of Tartu have overview about the best practices in adult training and consulting system in the oldest adult training and consulting centre in Slovenia
2. The experience, that the employees in the training and consulting centre of Vocational Education Centre of Tartu have gained, is used to analyze ways to improve adult training opportunities in Vocational Education Centre of Tartu and Estonia.
3. Adult training in Vocational Education Centre of Tartu is modern, it is taking into consideration the needs of students, has high quality and is available for target groups. There is cooperation between different parties and the high quality study and career consultation is available for everyone.
4. There are connections for future projects in adult education department.
