The main aim of the project is to improve the practical and professional knowledge of 72 initial vocational education students of Utena Regional Vocational Training Centre in order to raise their enterprise, integration and competitive ability in Lithuanian and EU labour market as well as to improve their foreign language skills while doing training in EU business enterprises and vocational training institutions Objectives of the project: - to improve the quality of vocational training, to give the student more learning methods and opportunities while training abroad - to improve employment and professional integration opportunities for the graduates of the centre giving them better conditions to find a job and continue studies. - to popularize food and service industry professions among students by exploiting the training centre buildings,established for food and service industry students' training and giving a possibility for the students to go on training abroad in order to meet the demands of food and service industry enterprises in Utena region and the whole Lithuania. 72 students of food and service professions will go on training abroad: 26 students of food industry profession will go on training in Denmark, Austria and Italy. - 10 butchers will go on training in Denmark Uddannelsescentret i Roskilde as this institution provides the whole process of practical training, starting with slaughtering and finishing with delivering the production to the consumer. This will give the students an opportunity to see their abilities in all meat processing operations. Uddannelsescentret i Roskilde training basis is not only he best in Europe but also in the world. - 10 future dairymens, butchers and bakers will go on training to Austria, Karintia where they will work in the butcher'sor cookshops, bakery and dairy shops. The students will not only acquire professional and practical knowledge of processing and selling dairy and grocery products, but they also will be able to see how family shop is run and to get initial skills for enterprise basis, which will be very useful for them to start teir own business in the future. - 6 bakers and butchers will go on training in Italy, Fattoria Biologica Patricei ecological farm where they will be able to see the technologies for processing organic products. They will also acquire practical skills to make organic products and tosell them. 26 service workers (cooks, waiters, barmen, hotel workers) will go on training: 8 students will go on training in Italy Pietrenere and Malta San Paulo and Slema hotels and 10 students will work in Austria Burg Hochosterwitz, Kristal, Hecker Wolfsberg, Winter, Romatic post hotels and restaurants where they will improve their skills preparing Mediterranean and Austrian meals as well as serving customers individually and during events, doing room service and giving customers information about services in hotels. 20 car mechanics will go on training in German and Austrian car service garages and car selling enterprises. The car mechanics from these two countries are known for their thorough and accurate work and the car garages - for the most modern equipment. The students will improve their working skills in maintenance inspection, utilization of used materials as well as communicating with customers. In general, the students will improve such competences as: communication, independence, self-confidence, attention, ability to plan,as well as tolerance towards other cultures, customs, languages. They will also expand their linguistic knowledge, will master specific terms in foreign languages. One more important thing for them will be acquiring international and multicultural experience in taking part in projects. The competences acquired will assure a more successful professional career and integration into labour market. The participants of the project will visit famous sightseeing places, museums in Denmark, Austria, Germany, Italy, Malta, whichwill also add to students' civil and cultural competences. The project will contribute to development of Lithuania's food processing, tourism and service sectors. The qualified and experienced workers will assure the longtime development of enterprises and also their competitive ability not only in Lithuanian but also in EUmarket. This will also encourage the enterprises to use new technologies and create new products. 72 project participants will be competitive in labour market and they will find a job in Lithuania easier, which will decrease the emigration and unemployment of young people in Lithuanua. Utena Regional Vocational Training Centre will acquire experience using ECVET in teching process.
