It's a consortium Project that is established with the partnership of the main institutions which activates in the area of agriculture and industrial vocational education foundations in the leadership of Gümüshaciköy Agriculture and Education Foundations Fraternal Association.The project's name is “Work Security Practices in Agriculture and Industry”. Project's partner vocational schools are; Merzifon Vocational And Technical Anatolian High School,Vezirköprü Vocational And Technical Anatolian High School,Gümüshaciköy Multi Programme Anatolian High School.Project's partner agricultural institutions are; Gümüshaciköy Chamber of Agriculture,Gümüshaciköy Food-Agriculture and Animal Breeding Management and Gümüshaciköy Pomologists Association. Project has two main components: 1st component: Educating 17 students,who attend project's partner vocational schools,theorically and practically about work healthcare and work security in industrial areas at Bildungs Centrum Nies host school in Germany between 03.05.2015 and 23.05.2015(3 weeks). 2nd component: Enabling 12 staff,who are responsible for vocational education in agricultural institutions,to educate and to make survey about work healthcare and work securityin agricultural areas in host agricultural institution named Vlaams Agrarisch Centrum in Belgium between 29.03.2015 and 11.04.2015(two weeks). According to the data of international labour organization; in Turkey 100 worker's death risk because of industrial accidents more than 5 times of Europe average.Statistics show that one worker becomes incapable of working every 2,5 hours. Whereas researchers show that %50 of the industrial accidents are even easily preventable and %48 preventable by a systematical study,%2 cannot be prevented. Because of industrial accidents personnel incur financial and moral losses. As they are retired (of a physical disability). these personnel don't work actively and don't pay insurance premium but they get pension This situation increases social security expense and grows deficit spending.Financial losses' rate, in Turkey as a result of industrial accidents and work illnesses,is %4 to revenu national brüt. It means that shortage of labour and unnecessary usage of limited souces for the country's economy. According to TUIK statistics about industrial accidents and work illnesses approximately %70 of the personnel who have industrial accidents are between 18-35 ages, %63,2 of industrial accidents ocur in the workplace,where number of personnel is less than 50,and forms a big part in our region's industry. 12th grade vocational students of the preoject partner schools get practical education in industrial institutions 3 days a week. This is called skill education at work place.In addition %90 of graduates get hired at these industrial institutions.So these people have great risk of industrial accidents not ony as a student in workshops and at factories during practical skills education but also when they are graduated and start working. Agriculture is one of the most dangerous sectors in many countries.According to European Union statistics Office EUROSTAT agriculture is the most dangerous sector following construction sector. According to ILO every year out of 1,3 billion agriculture worker 170000 people die, some of them get injured seriously or become ill.Exposure to agriculture chemicals and agricuture machines accidents are the two main reasons of death,injury and illness i the sector. One of the main reasons why agriculture workers aren ‘t at an adequate level of work security is the inadequacy of education. To have a look at the education level of working population in agriculture, %10 of men and %27 of women aren't even literate. These numbers show that working population in agriculture aren't at an adequate education level. Because of the reasons given above this Project has been needed to prepare in order to prevent possible industrial accidents during the practices of agriculture workers and when the students are in the workshops and laboratories,practical in industry and at their worklife. With this Project ; -Raising awareness of the participants about work security. -Informing and getting skills to the participants about preventing industrial accidents. -Providing infomation transfer by observing the practices in-place work healthcare and work security in target countries. -With the cultural and social themed excursions investigating the social and cultural style of the host countries and realizing cultural exchange have been aimed. Project has started on 15.09.2014 and finished on 15.09.2015.
