TALC means “Transparency in the Acquired Language Competences”; its prime target is to make language competence (non- philological) on C1 level achieved by university students transparent and in correspondence with the needs of employers in specific sectors (business, management and engineering). Quality and compatibility should be assured throughout Europe by standardisation, measurability and transparency (important for employability and mobility of students). The projects will progress in various steps: Needs identification, identification of target groups in the involved countries, interviews of academics and professionals, establishment of a thesaurus of competence indicators, questionnaires for academics and professionals, tests and establishment of the final version of the thesaurus, development of reference material as self-assessment, benchmarking of programmes, transparency in language competences acquired- these reference materials will be edited in German, English, Spanish and Slovak language. Manuals for teachers will also be edited in these languages. By means of dissemination seminars, by activities of the partners via established networks and by commercial approaches from the partners owing the copyright a wide valorisation process should be done.
